Marstar's red dots look like Tascos to me.
The advantage of buying a Marstar one is that they are guarenteed for life.

Anyone have one? Is the dot clear?

I am planning to use it on a SKS.

Thanks!

Who cares if it's got a lifetime warranty....are you willing to risk a once in a lifetime shot on a no name scope ?

Coltfan: Good point. :)

Except, well I just plink at tin cans and paper targets with this rifle. So I can always shoot another day.

I've personally tested our 1x42mm Red Dot Sight on a Norinco N870-14.00 12 gauge short-barreled 870-type shotgun firing 2.75" shells and rifled slugs. I've yet to have a problem with either the shotgun or the red dot scope.

I think the 1x42mm and its bigger brother the 1x50mm red dots are good little sights. They certainly compare well to my Bushnell Trophy red dot: I've no trouble relying on either (both happen to be Chinese made).

If you "just gotta have a name plate" on your red dot so be it, everyone's entitled to their opinion. I won't name which specific "domestic name brands" our source is the OEM manufacturer for (doesn't pay to bite the hand that feeds you) but will say these same optics and others are available for sale elsewhere under different names.

As for the limited lifetime warranty, we couldn't think of a better way to show the product's reliability. Processing a return for repair or replacement costs more than just the price of the item: there are overhead costs for our staff to unpack, examine, and repair/replace it. We're confident our proverbial mailbox will not be full of defective/unreliable scopes.

Are our Marstar Precision Optics a substitute for Steiner/Zeiss/Leupold? Heck no! What they are is well-priced, well-positioned in the market, and reliable. Our return policy and limited lifetime warranty represent our commitment to you should you diagree with the above statement.

Hope this helps,

- Peter

Thanks Peter. I have 2 on the way (1x50 marstar red dots.)
Had to have on on my .22 for the money you can't go wrong. And my buddy is putting one on his .444marlin. That will put it through the paces.
