You're gonna need to reload. You can find cast bullets to buy easy enough and powder most likley but large pistol primers are scarce. Some luck is needed for brass also. I bought 150 brass when I could, make my 255 gr bullets, only have about 150 primers. Never mind store made 45LC you won't find them in Canada, very expensive ammo anyways.
Your best bet may be the local Cowboy Action posse you're shooting with, or planning to shoot with (if you haven't already introduced yourself, don't waste time!). They should know where to buy stuff around Edmonton, or could even have some brass and other reloading components they might spare. Good old .45 Colt is mostly a thing in circles like that, I'd bet more of the people who use it nowadays are in Cowboy than outside. And since you're not spraying brass all over the landscape like some newfangled semiauto shooter you get to use it again, so there's not a lot of factory ammo in that caliber and most folk who use it roll their own.
Since it was originally a black powder cartridge it only takes being half full of smokeless, so do always look down each one to make sure it's only filled to where it should be before placing a bullet on top.
Thank you all for the reloading advice. Is there a suggestion for a quality pot melter and bullet mold? I have no issues casting bullets and reloading. I found some 45 colt designed for lever guns. Might just buy them for the brass. Keen to locate carbide dies, resizer as well.
Not to take up too much of Marstar's thread with our digression, but your best source would be the Lee and Lyman books on reloading, other professional sources, and local-to-you help and advice, so you can see how other reloaders do it and they can look at what you're accomplishing. I've always bought my bullets and never cast any (yet) but I've been reloading for awhile and paying attention to what I can. I don't consider myself an expert or much of a teacher.
Best way to clear out preloaded brass so you can reload it is to send the bullets it came with downrange!

They are very quick with processing purchases including restricted.
I wish I could've purchased more handguns from them but they were sold out for ones I liked and had to buy from other supplier who took their sweet time initiating the transfer.

I've never had an issue buying a new gun from marstar, now or in the past, after a lot of transactions. I didn't buy a tippo 2 and that was regrettable, but they are under new management now. I did once buy a new gun with a significant defect from them and they took it back. Fwiw, it was a new in box chiappa model 92 with a cracked bolt, quite a few years ago now. The defect wasn't obvious, and they couldn't reasonably have foreseen it when they shipped me the gun. It probably cracked when proof fired in Italy.
Got 2 from Marstar after socks said he was coming for transfers. Ya'll could have talked me into a second Pietta SAA when I spoke with you but you just answered my questions patiently without any upsell. Haven't shot the Norinco Olympia yet but it looks and feels real nice, especially for the price. Fast shipping too.
