Marstar Service

Jesus!!..That was like watching a bad train wreck.
I admit to only reading about every second page or so, but it was very educational.

One thing I don't get is, how can anyone think they can pull a fast one like this on the firearms community without them finding out?

Are there any updates on this situation beyond that multipage thread as far as any lawsuits, court settlements or legal fallouts of someone getting injured, as lot of those rifles might still be out there?

oh wow.. that garand thread is epic. I wonder what happened to those rifles afterwards and if anyone actually tried to shoot them (by pulling a string, lol)?

I never had any issues what so ever with the "old" Marstar, I fact all my interactions where outstandingly helpful and positive. The "new" Marstar came through for me recently with a rather off the wall request and so its two thumbs up to Marstar for me all the way.

I wonder if the T2 fiasco is the reason for Marstar having new ownership?

I also wonder, if the old owner was forced to make things right through some sort of legal action...what I'm getting at, was there some kind of a closure to this one?

I suspect he's referring back to a year or so ago when most people on here wouldn't even mention Marstar by name over some very poor customer relations actions on their part especially over exploding rifles.

I guess Highlander doesn't believe leopards change their spots.

Or buying an item in their online store only to be called and told it was out of stock, but then offered the same item the next day for 3 times the price after they "located" their inventory

Yep, that is almost exactly what happened to me.

I went to purchase an item listed on their website, which was cheaper then on other sites, and kept getting no reply to my faxes. When I called them, they said they didn't get my faxes, even though a previous reply from them referenced one of my faxes. Then the item disappeared off their website, only to show up a couple of weeks later at a much higher price.

Bottom line was that they didn't want to sell me the items at the price they had posted on their website.

It's too bad the new owners didn't pick a new company name, as the old name was highly tainted.

tbaybmkr, Thanks for the thread, really appreciate the positive feedback.

We knew (and know, believe me) that Marstar has a reputation that we need to overcome. Its an uphill battle for sure, but one that we want. I wouldn't want to 'hide' behind a new company name, but rather use it to motivate us to move in the right direction.

Thanks to everyone for the comments here, thanks coppercoatedcandy for sharing the link on the t2 thread. The company's past isn't something I hide from, it did occur before I started working here, but its still a relevant situation that carries an important lesson.

My best,
Payam

When I was changing the FAC possession only to the PAL they promised they would have a matching serial number K98 ready for me. They didn't. I'll never forget or forgive them for that.

New management? Hopefully things are better now.

Pretty stupid way to look at things.

You guys have still got my vote, I have no regrets of the business we have done together, and will do more in the future.

People sure have short memories.

They are great now, the company is under new ownership and has improved 10 fold. I've bought double digit amounts of firearms from them since the change and have nothing but great deals and even better costumer service.

Why should ppl remember a different company under different ownership? The name might be the same but they are nowhere near the company 5 years ago

Let me tell you about my recent experience
It started a few months ago when I was looking for Carcano clips, I had seen that Marstar would be producing their own. Around the same time I happened across a deal on a sporterized SMLE, and found that Marstar had new production walnut stocks available. I placed an order for the stock, but requested the order be held until the Carcano clips arrived (I wasn't in a rush since the SMLE rebuild will be a winter project). I was told it wasn't an issue. Fast forward a while, and the new Carcano clips have arrived. I receive a phone call letting me know they are in stock. While chatting on the phone, I decide to also add a couple extra things to my order that I had been looking at on the website. About an hour after chatting on the phone, I get a call back from Marstar who very nicely asks "Hey, that 2nd item you bought, if you want we can unpackage it here, and then we can fit it in the first box of stuff for you and save you money on shipping if you'd like." I agreed that I didn't need the extra cardboard at my house to recycle and went for the shipping savings. 15 minutes later I receive an e-mail update with my tracking number. Everything showed up, very well packaged, a few days later. I was very impressed with the personalized service I received and will continue to shop at Marstar in the future

TLDR; 5/5, would recommend

I use Marstar for everything, Payam is the best.. I'm OCD about my guns, especially finish on new guns (Surplus I don't mind wear and tear obviously) and Payam has exchanged a few guns restricted and NR for me with no hassle on their dime that had cosmetic issues. Since they took over ownership, zero issues. Great company now

I saw the Lee Enfield I have been looking for for a very long time on their site. I wrote to them with some questions on Sunday and by early Monday they had replied and offered to take more pictures or any close ups that I might need.

Very fast shipping (it actually arrived days early) and overall great service. I will definitely use them again.
