Marstar Stainless Op Rod Spring Guide

I have just received mine from Marstar (Thanks Guys) and am very happy with it. It removes all the "crunchy" feeling when you #### the M14s.

It is a substantial piece of steel and looks to be dimensionally similar to the Rooster33 guide except for a slight difference in the angle of taper at the front of the guide.

Has anyone done a side by side comparison of these guides?

P.S. I replaced the Norc Op Rod Spring with a USGI specimen and the rifle now cocks as slick as snot. I would love to do a comparison shoot but I want to order a cheek rest from rooster first.

Though I am at Marstar, I do own a Rooster33 rod and have compared it side by side with the ones Marstar is having made in Canada.

I'd be happy with either as I could see no significant differences in quality, materials, or workmanship between the two.

That is a fair assessment. I've seen both, have a Marstar. Haven't had the opportunity to compare them side by side.

I`m so sorry, but this is a BS....
the op. spring guides were made in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.....
I got mine form the shop in this privince...
and they are the same as Marstar has.

I have heard their is a fellow in Edmonton who also makes them, can't remember his name, but I believe he makes blinged up m-305's, among other things, and has a very good rep. I think P+D sells his m-305's?
 
I installed these in my 305. Haven't had the opportunity to test the rifle since installation, but the action certainly cycles more smoothly.

The Marstar stainless op rod spring guide IS NOT made by Rooster33 i.e. Laszlo...

I was on the phone with Rooster33 and told him that Marstar had them at $39.99... I also "thought" they were "his" and he corrected me... Laszlo was surprised to hear that Marstar had the "same" product up for sale as he did... And request that I "guide" him to the Marstar add on their site, so he could have a look...

That being said, I bought my stainless op rod guide rods from Marstar as I had already had 2 M14 rifles on the way from them, so I didn't have to pay shipping AND, they were cheaper than R33's... :redface: :(
