6-8 purchases from Marstar and the service gets better every time. Christian has handled my purchases several times and been great. 1851 Navy delivered cross-Canada in under a week from phone call to in my sweaty hands? With a free T-shirt too? That's good service!

like i said, dont put link to emails if u dont reply.....busy my ass!!!

Yeah... There are thousands - no, millions of firearms retailers in Canada. They're all just sitting around, waiting for you to call. They have absolutely nothing else to do but wait on your business. </sarcasm>

There are 1.8 million + people licenced to own firearms in this country. There are less firearms dealers in this country than there are honest politicians. The math is against them being slow.

Time spent receiving, doing inventory, unboxing, cleaning, picking orders, filling in paperwork, purchasing more firearms/accessories/ammunition, filling in more paperwork, making phone calls to suppliers and the various CFOs, receiving phone calls, filling in more paperwork...

And the time wasted by responding to the half-assed complaints of whiny impatient punks...

Buddy - if you'd ever worked at a busy place, you'd know that sometimes there just isn't enough time to do everything.

Calm down. Take it easy. Have a beer or something. Count to ten... Then act like a grown up, apologize for being an impatient ignorant knob, and try to get an answer to your question like a big boy would.

yeah right!!!

Because they are sponsor of this forum , i cant say they dont reply to their emails???????

Wow...!!!!!!!!

Banned me...i dont give a s**t...

I'll disagree with you Hammer. Customers are the reason you are in business. The guy that thinks opening boxes and cleaning the lunchroom is more important than serving customers is on borrowed time.

With all due respect to you guys that have dealt with Marstar without a problem - good for you. But I called them and e-mailed them and got ignored. I was polite and courteous even when the third e-mail went unanswered. When I called, the idiot I spoke with couldn't wait to get off the phone. (Maybe I interrupted him while he was cleaning the toilets or emptying the office garbage pails). All I wanted to do was place an order - I wasn't rude or impolite, I was just a guy that wanted to buy a gun. So I placed my order again and got a verbal acknowledgement. I thought we were good. Silly me.

When I complained about it here, they blustered and huffed. 'We have no record of your order,' the idiot wrote. I responded, 'I know! That's the friggin problem!!!!!' Then I was told to place the order again. 5th time's a charm, I guess. I admit I am peeved at the way I was treated and I think I have a right to be.

Rather than trying to control my temper and chilling out with a beer, I said to hell with John and Marstar and went to P&D. They can do all the things required of a successful business AND respond to customers. As can Wolverine and Questar...and probably most of the others that advertise here.

Fact is I am disappointed with you all and the management of Gunnutz too. I am a sales guy, I know all about inventory, bean counting, paperwork and all that jazz - and chit happens. But when it does, a real man steps up, apologizes for it, and makes things right. PO'd customers are actually an opportunity - you can make yourself look like a hero when you go the extra mile to help them out...or you can flip them the bird the way Marstar does.

The sad thing about all this is that just because a dealer is 'Canadian Gunnutz Approved' - it doesn't necessarily mean he is ethical or competent. Unfortunately, the truth of it is as it always has been: Buyer Beware.

GLENFILTHIE;

Here we go again, do you really want to drag all this out again ??

If you agree I will pull the file and post, however I would not do so without your permission.

John

Post away John, we're all grown ups here and you are entitled to tell your side. I don't expect you to be honest about it and I care not one whit in any event. That karmic wheel has a way of making sure that what goes around comes around and guys like you eventually take care of themselves.

I would dearly love to post a PM I just got from another Gun Nut about Marstar. I don't feel so bad now. I only wasted time with you trying to buy a crappy chicom M14. If he is telling the truth (and I believe he is) - you are shafting other dealers for tens of thousands of dollars at a pop! They are losing time AND money dealing with you.

But having another Gun Nut (a dealer no less) agreeing with me about Marstar is not why I would love to post his message. Get this: he is so disgusted with you, that he has offered to match your prices AND throw in free shipping. In effect, he is stepping up to fix another dealer's mistake. If I were King Of The Gun Nutz that man would get free advertising and Marstar would get a boot in the seat of the pants! I may just stop by and finally get that M14 after all, even though the gun safe is bursting at the seams already!

I am going to check out his website and if opportunity permits, I will try him out. If he treats me as well as Questar, Wolverine and P&D has, I will make it a point to brag about my fine taste in mail order suppliers and tip my hat to him. If he were to treat me like dirt the way you did John, I would say that too.

I am just a gun club duffer and I call em as I see em. The way I see it is that Marstar obviously treats most of its customers alright...but if you happen to be one that is mistreated - good luck in trying to get a fair shake out of them.

Wonder if this thread can be a subject for the next episode of Reload Radio? I mean, it is the hottest thread of the week without doubt (well second best thread besides the guy who's been bumping his WTB Husqvarna .22 thread in the EE every week for the last 4 years, lol).

I guess we could do an episode on trolling.

I met John in person at the EXA show. He's got a true passion for the business and takes customer satisfaction very seriously. I got to talk to him in person about the Chinese SKS rifles before they arrived. His business is complicated no doubt about that.

Sometimes he must feel like he's driving a car with a bunch of kids in the back constantly shouting "are we there yet?" The purchase is the last step in a very long and involved process that none of the customers see or care about. They just want their stuff now. Fair enough. We're all consumers right?

Email is a less than perfect form of communication. Sometimes mistakes happen. No business can satisfy 100% of their customers if only for the reason that everyone makes mistakes once in a while or technical problems pop up.

I think the thing to take away from this is that when a mistake happens don't take it so personally.

We're looking forward to having John on the podcast again some time.

Cheers John!

This is the dumbest I have felt in a while. Where does one apply to get time back? This thread might has well have been written by 15 year old girls, am I the only one that likes the outdoors lifestyle because it is some what drama free? Grow up and buy from where ever you want. If I don't like the service I go elsewhere, if I do like it I support it. It seems a little childish to hide behind fake names and trash on someones
business. Sorry for the rant but this thread should be deleted. Some of you just sound like a bunch of 15 year old arm chair bloggers.

Does everybody that says something nice about Marstar get a free sling or cleaning kit on their next order or something? :D

They hope for better treatment but I talked to a guy last week and he told me that there are always enough people looking for the cheapest stuff combined with the worst treatment and they even enjoy it.

Marstar is not even answering most of the questions on his own forum, so what do you think happens to email?

.

Well said. Get a life people!

Emails are the ###est way of getting hold of a huge company

Just today I had a problem with my order at WW, I emailed them right after never got a reply. What did I do? I f**king called. 2 rings and 45seconds later everything was fixed.

Where did you get this idea about Marstar?

I know you are still studying but let me tell you that if you don't answer your email or ignore them in a big corporation (white color workers), you are ####ed.

email/internal mailing system/ordering system/meetings/blackberry, you name it
