Just opened the shipping carton from Marstar. Was pleasantly surprised at just how nice this rifle is. In comparable condition to new commercial sporters. If it shoots half as good as it looks, then I'm going to be very happy!

My only complaint is that the expected ammo pouches and cleaning kit were missing. Guess I'll have to give Marstar a call after the long weekend and see what happened. Anyone else have accessories go missing?

What are you guys using to cut the uber sticky preservative off of the rifle? Mine is covered in little white Styrofoam pellets from the shipping carton. I was thinking carb cleaner?

Almost forgot, anyone have a line on a period correct sling? Looks like Marstar is sold out.

My M48BO was missing the ammo pouch; called them, they're sending me one. I also ordered a repro sling.

Paint thinner or Hoppes No.9 works fine on the cosmo. Took me a couple of nights to get it all off.

Mine is in fantastic shape. Couple dings in the wood aside, it looks like it was made last week. Wood is surprisingly nice for a combloc battle rifle, metal is great, fit excellent, finish not half bad. These are a hell of a bargain.

My m48BO is in the mail as we speak. God I'm excited!

As for the OPs question about slings, if you can't find any from any sponsors, Ebay's got some, but the prices aren't too friendly. I'm going to use a Mosin Nagant sling until find something better.
