Hey people, I need some advice. Is Marstar a reliable, reputable dealer? They seem to have a good guarantee on firearms and such, but have any of you actually bought stuff from them? How were your overall experiences with them. Thanks.

Do a search on Marstsr, with the search button at the top of the page....

Experiences vary, there are multiple threads about Marstar....I doubt you'll get many people to espond to this question again....

They treated me well for the one used rifle I bought from them last year.

I will say in my case they did rate the quality a tad higher then it really was, but over all it all worked out OK.

I've bought a bunch of stuff from them, firearms and parts. Great to deal with.

do you do it all by email? I called a couple of times and either there was no answer :)confused: ) or I was put on indefinate-hold :(

So far I have _tried_ to buy from them, but no luck so far. I guess I might be unlucky

I've bought via email and via the phone (when I could get through).. I've got 305's on order. They were ordered via email and when I didn't hear anything back I called (I got bounced around 3 or 4 times) but they did have the order in the computer so I expect they will arrive sooner or later....

Every dealer will have supporters and detractors. In my experience, Marstar is an above average dealer - though they often have many goodies backordered due to the popularity of their wares.

I've managed fine with email but there seems to be consensus that phone is faster - I think Marster is particularly swamped right now because of a recent shipment. They have employees who participate in discussions on this site. The only experience I've had with them involved a defective product - which they cheerfully refunded without any hassle as per their guarantee. My only regret was that I didn't check here first to see which Norinco products were recommended or contraindicated. Advise you to have a look for that thread if you're shopping for Norinco.

Cheers,
G

Don't forget the time difference.
Don't call during lunch.
If the toll free number is busy call the local number.

Thanks for the responses; seems like they honor their 'Ironclad Guarantee', which is important to me at least. Hmmm looks like I will deal with them after all. I really want their Norinco SKS. Best price I could find for it... ammo is a bit expensive though. I probably will get ammo for SKS through Canammo, or maybe even SIR. BTW, anyone know if the SIR ammo is any good?
Cheers.

It's not "their ammo" in the sense they did not make it. :D
So far the only dud I have had is 1 Cartridge from a Norinco Silver Box.
(Hmmm I should really pull that bullet and save it.)

Everything I have used so far seems to be on spec.
Clean rifle after use. :) yada yada yada.

I've bought my VZ-58 and a few mags from them. With the VZ-58, they gave me more than was advertised (I got an extra 5/30 mag and a bayonet), and one the mags didn't fit my gun, and they took it back no problem. All my dealings have been cool, and I will be a repeat customer.

Cheers!
