Hello!
While rummaging around on Marstar's site, I took a look at their scope mount for the M-14/M-305.
Any experience with it? is it steel or alloy?
Does it stay put or what?
Is it money well spent or another cr***y gadget?
BTW, are the M-305 rear sight adjustments as bad as they were in the beginning?
PP.

Scope base.

I have one and they are OK for the money but I would much more prefer the A.R.M.S. mount. If you don't locktight the side mount screw it can come loose after repeated firing. Mine did the first time I used it and then I put some locktight on it and it seams to be stable so far.

The mount I got was complete crap. It Did not sit true.

Side mount hole was not in the right place rear clamping point had to be shimmed. Very little room for ejection.

I would never advise someone to get that model. Pay the extra and get a mount that will work. I really wish I had...

With mine no matter what I tried (lock tite, etc) it would come loose after about 5 or 10 rounds. Eventaully gave up with it.

after a bit of dicking around and a little bit of filing my M-305 mount works great :D after about 400 shots i took it off with out any problem :D just lock tight it in and make sure it is tight :D

Hello,

The M-14 Deluxe Tactical Scope Mount definitely looks like a nice mount and as a bonus, it is said to be "Made in Canada":)

The design must had been copied from other more expensive mounts existing on the market. Can't wait to get one...even if the price of the see-true seem to have been lowered a bit !

Now it would be nice if a Canadian company would manufacture a nice tactical stock for the M-14 !

Yes it would be nice for a company to make a tactical stock. Unfortunately I haven't heard of any. Thats why I will be working on the mill this weekend making my own. Shooting is just part of the fun of building up a new rifle.

The new mount looks good !......... If only it was made of steel ! ! ! ! ! !

If it's cnc machined, it's always possible, just modify the feedrate and cutter rotation speed and bingo.........

What the hell? When did Marstar start selling M-14 aftermarket parts? They really do love us!

That op rod spring guide looks exactly like rooster33's. Any confirmation on that? If so, awesome work by Marstar on helping the small businessman get ahead.

Ouch, my wallet!

Good morning:

We do have our proverbial ears to the ground and as the M-14S supplier are working with small business to develop quality Canadian made upgrades for this extremely popular and very affordable battle rifle.

The tactical M-14 mount (a term coined to differentiate it from out standard see-thru mount - which does work with a little fitting) is a premium part intended to stand with the very best on the market. It is an alloy mount and is built of ludicrously thick metal for maximum rigidity without making your rifle weigh a ton. Everything is CNC machined: no cheap casting here!

These mounts are made specifically for us and for the M-14S rifle. We understand how difficult and expensive sourcing M-14 related accessories from the United States can be and are providing a viable and extremely high quality alternative made right here at home. Better yet, you are supporting Canadian made M-14 gear by treating you and your rifle to one.

With all the M-14S rifles coming in this should be an excellent summer on the old firing line.

I should just set it up with payroll so that my paycheque goes right to you guys.

Sounds great Peter. :)

I have two scope mount questions for you if you have a moment:

1) Will there be a money back guarantee if the new mount either does not fit a customer's M305, or does not hold zero?

2) Is it possible to get a replacement receiver bolt for the old style mount? I have one that was damaged beyond use while trying to "fit" the mount - which had the receiver hole in the wrong location.

TIA

Yes: our Ironclad Guarantee ensures your satisfaction with this or any guns/gear purchased from us or we'll refund/credit/exchange in order to make things right.

All we ask is that you advise us ASAP if something's not right, contact us before sending anything back so we can make arrangements, and be careful to ensure no dings, dents, wear, or other damage is done to the item (keep 'Igor' and 'Bubba' away from it until you're sure you're keeping it ;)).

Give us a call! I don't know offhand: maybe one of the guys in the parts dep't can help you with that.

As for the other comments: if these mounts and other custom M-14 gear (I won't stray off topic by mentioning them) prove popular we'll definitely look into developing more homegrown goodies for you.

Thanks again,

- Peter

One product you may consider is getting some better bipods in than those flimsy Leapers ones. Maybe Shooters Ridge pivot bi-pods?
