Marstar's New VZ-58 Mounts

The mount looks to be made in the US. I've seen the SKS mount. It's not bad at all, it 's better than the M-14 mount. I'm getting one for my VZ for sure.

Yes, it is made in the US, it's not Chicom junk :p
You'll have to let us know how the rail performs Speckfire! :)

From the mfgr's website h ttp://scoutscopes.com/faqs.html

Q: Are your scope mounts well made?
A: Each Scout Mount is computer milled from a solid block of aluminum for a lifetime of reliable, problem free service. By manufacturing the entire unit our selves, we are able to maintain the strictest quality control

FWIW, they are located in Texas, not Beijing.

Will post pics later - but I got one on my VZ - very nice mount.

The detachable rail has two pins milled on the underside. These pins line up with two holes in the mount base. This ensures that the rail returns exactly to the same position after dismounting for cleaning. Tolerances are very tight so I don't think that there will be any shift.

Currently have a bushnell holo-sight on mine, works great for clearing a darkened basement, will post results after the weekend.

do you find your face quite high off the stock for proper scope alignment? looks like it will be about 2" higher than the irons.

I can't see it mattering if you're using it for a red dot. Besides, I don't think you'd want to put anything with eye relief that far up on the gun anyhow. You'd be better drilling and tapping on a rear mount like so many other gunnutz have done in their garages if you want to put an actual scope on it.

Ok I got the mount today. Qualitywise it's very good for the price. It fits very nicely on the rear sight and appears to be solid too. I'm waiting now for my Kobra sight and I'll also do a range report like Thamok

Incase no one saw the review... it's very detailed.
I have to say if I had one of these rifles (or anything similar) I'd buy one... it's very clever and looks well made IMO.

I bought one of those on eBay as well. Not worth the money. Might be ok on a .22.

save you money for a real eotech. they are junk. my buddy burned through two of those POS's. when i used them they shifted POI when you changed the recticles.

+1

I bought the two kinds of the genuine Hakko and they're pretty good. The knockoff was the worst 60 something odd dollars I'd spent on optics. Flimsy, crosshairs were bad( glass not properly coated?), didn't hold zero and worst of all some power settings didn't work.
