I emailed Marstars yesterday and they informed me they are not going to carry the Peitta line of Navy colts they are looking for a new supplier? I apologize if this may be in wrong forum in advance. As it pertains to Black powder figured it is okay. I was interested in pricing on a 1851 Navy in 44. Only shopping though not buying.At least that is what i tell the wife
 
It's disappointing to hear the confirmation, but I'd suspected this might be the case for some time since Marstar hadn't restocked their Pietta line in...forever. We still have Ubertis available in Canada, but it was nice to have the choice.

I bought a navy in .44 two years ago and wish I had bought it in .36...
because it was .44, I eventually converted the frame into an 1860 army gun which is more historically accurate. Was quite a bit of fun, bought all the parts one by one through dixie and eventually put it all together.
Its only missing some army grips, other than that its complete.
Point being, looks like I won't be buying a .36 until marstar finds a new supplier.
 
My 1851 is in .36 (the original Colt calibre) Nothing more really needed for punching paper and steel but I'd like an 1858 Remington or 1860 Colt Army in .44 for kicks.

Starting in June, Marstar will be carring the "Chapparel" line of old era
firearms.
Said they will be posting them on web site Monday or Tuesday.
Will start pricing lower than Pietta's, was told same or better quality than Pietta.
Time will tell, as i plan on getting a pair of 73's.
Will still have the Marstar no "B.S". warranty.
They would not tell me reason for the switch, but one would assume
minimum orders required, or large price increase .
or supply problems.

Thats the $379. question.
When a member does buy one, please make a post on your impressions.
If these are truely a good lasting gun, they will go fast.
Many people are very interested in these guns.
I am told they make the "EMF and Taylor" line of guns sold in the U.S.
A guy that emailed me from Vermont the other day,(cowboy action shooter)
said they were very good out of the box, and much better than Pietta.
They were not at the top of food chain, but no where near the bottom either.
Time will tell, and they have a one year warranty.(by Marstar)
Thats better than most anything you buy today.
My 2008 Yamaha 450 Kodiak only came with a 6 month warranty.
