I've an old Martini-Enfield truck gun in 303 br.
It's awesome. I was walking my dog the other day; think big...dog and walk. A European Great Pyrene on about a 2 mile walk through the creekline and hills etc. Took the M-E because it's short light and handy.
As I got done I got to thinking; this gun would be awesome in a 44 magnum. Or a 20 gauge or a 45-70...and so on.
One needs not worry about bolt faces and whether the next round's rim will fit as the extractor is on the breech.
People buy those POS break opens because they can have multiple calibers.
Why can't someone figure out how to do a quick change bbl on a Martini action. Interrupted threads like a Win take-down.
I'd sign up for one in a heartbeat compared to those nasty NEA break opens; they have no panache compared to a Martini IMO.
Anyone else think so?
