HOWDY all. Is there many people out there that have a Martini- Henery ENIFIELD ? What do you use them for? collection, hunting ,Parades renactment ?
I came across a mk III enfield in 577/450 cal (I think ) just not sure what to do with it .Odd size bullets and expence dies and brass to shoot. Can not use it for cowboy shooting ,which is my thing.

Kerry Jenkinson in BC sells the brass or you can make/have made a chamber insert so that you can shoot 45-70 shells out of it. Brass is around $4 - $5 each unless I am mistaken.

It's a Martini-Henry. It's not an Enfield. The cartridge uses regular .458" bullets that are easy enough to come by. Go here for reloadable brass made out of 3/4" bar stock. You'll need a lathe though. There's all kinds of on-line load data. http://lweb.net/tom/577-450.PDF

Sunray, Don't be so hasty, some Matrini's were indeed Martini Enfiled's. Depends on the barrel. Some were Martini Metford as well. Vicous, please send me some more info if you can.

My wife has a MK3, Mk4, and a mini martini 22cal. So far there has been limited shooting do to lack of ammo but I've got some reloading dies for the 577/450 now and some brass so we'll give it a go sometime.
