MARTINI HENRY / british RED TUNIC QUESTION

That'd be .577-.450. You want the how-to I have for making reloadable brass out of 3/4" bar stock?
You can buy the whole uniform here. Add the W's. .militaryheritage.com/zuluwar.htm
Not seeing late 19th Century British Army patterns anywhere. It's not the uniform that difficult or terribly expensive. It's the hat and metal bits that'll hurt.
Rummage around here. Add the W's. .reenactor.net/index.php?page=21

It is your thread, started by your own inquiry ... so I am a bit puzzled why you are seeking updates?

We should be asking you for updates on the uniform you were planning to make ...;)

Mind you, I can post a couple of my most recently acquired uniforms - both are Pattern 1863 Canadian Militia uniforms and kit: Infantry on the left and Rifles on the right ...

(Of course the rifles are both Snider-Enfields, since there were very few Martini-Henry rifles ever in use by Canadian troops ...)

And here is my Artillery group again (photo taken only a month ago) ... this time with our "big gun" ...

there is a surplus store in Kingston Ont. you could give them a call . they may have some officer Cadet tunics that you could use as a starting point .

The store in Kingston might at very least be a possible source for suitable trousers. The dress trousers worn by RMC cadets are the same as were worn by British infantry (and Canadian) from the mid-1800s until well into the 20th century: high-waisted dark blue serge with a “fishtail” back at the waist and red piping (not a broad stripe) down each outside seam. A field frock (i.e. not a “tunic”, which would be more ornate and have eight front buttons) like the one in diopter’s link could be obtained made to your personal measurements from “Replicaters” in India (where most of my uniforms were made) for about US$165, delivery by air freight express included. (They, or a similar supplier, were most likely the source of the tunic in the link.)

No names, no pack drill, but I recognize the "corporal" standing beside the gun.;)
