Martini Henry. what's it worth?

I have a Martini Henry IV 1 in 577/450. I bought some years ago. I'm just curious as to what it's worth. Bore has pitting but still good rifling. Stock has dings in it almost seems like from a war but no serious cracks. Metal is all patina but not rusted. Internals are excellent. It's fine for shooting. Nothing has been modified. Any help will be appreciated.

The influx from IMA and Atlanta Cutlery really impacted the value of Martini-Henry rifles.

Canada never used the Mk IV as far as I am aware

There are Mk I-IIIs that come up from time to time.

Condition appears average less bore condition and slight wood crack at receiver which impact value.

IMHO - it is worth $400

If the rifle has lasted 129 years I dont think a little bit of water will hurt it, it does make for a pretty picture tho

Knowing Dr. Slav... it's well oiled and I'm sure he gave it good wipe down after the photo was taken. These are war horses not kids toys.

I have of those as well.

If it locks up tight you have a shooter, $400-450 is about it, prices have come down. So unless its something extra special you won't get much more. You can always ask for $700 and keep bumping it in hope that a sucker bites.....

From what I've read that one is a type A

new receiver, Enfield Martini parts and converted Enfield 402 caliber barrel. I have 2 with the exact same markings.

Don't worry about the water. It was so greasy I could leave it out for a month and nothing will happen to it. As for everything else... thank you for your time and opinions. I figured it would be around 400+/- . It's Locks up nice and as mentioned the Internals are like new and we're caked in old grease when I got it. I think I should fire it. Maybe find a conversion for 45 colt. I have lots of that ammo and only 16 rounds of 455 reloads. Once again... thanks to all.

Keep it and convert it. You'll fall in love with them. Personally, I'd convert it to .357 Magnum.
