Martini Henry.

Hello everyone,

I recently picked up this nice (well I think it is!), Martini Henry from a fellow gunner.

I already have a carbine in .303, so I thought this would be a nice addition.

It has very few markings, and I have checked some of the Martini Henry sites, to see what information they have. Although very helpful, they don’t seem to have much information on rifles with no or little markings.

What do you think? Civilian model, kyber pass copy, or a Nepalese version.

Any advice or information would be much appreciated.

Jon9021: A great many Mk IV's ended up being used by Military Police and/ or local militias in the NW frontier of india, often after having been used by regular Indian Regiments. I believe I see a faint "DIKPOL" on the right butt which suggests just this (Dara Ishmail Khan Police). You'll find some info on these on the British Militaria Forum if you search for a while.
