I have an old Martini henry Marked 1886 0n the butstock has an impressed crown with R enfeild M over the number 1 , also 4 over the 1886 on the stock ,crown with a 1 beside it, y over letters D L O over 4 with a 1 to theside of it. To the right of that is two broad heads touching.
Right side of receiver is a crown over VR over 1885 over a 1 over I.C.!.
On parts of the wood looks like two Rs back to back in different places. This is stamped onto the knoxform also.
On the side of the barrel by the knoxform is a crown overVR over 1R also Crown over an E over 1B also Crown over VR over what looks to be Crossed axes over 2P.
There are numerous markings on the bottom of the stock the most prominent is a crown over BR over 46.
The barrell has very good rifling but the whole rifle has not been cleaned in many and i mean many years.
Where the three screws go through the receiver are what looks to be three nails but they are pattinaed just like the rest of the rifle.
Over all it is 37 and 1/2 inches with a barrel lenth of 20 1/2 inches. front sight looks to be original rear sight base is there and is marked out from 150-200-300 it is missing the slide and the v notch.. I t is full wood to within 2 1/2 inches of the barrel and has the slot and holder for a ramrod which is missing.
Underside of the lever has a Broadhead over WD over crown over E over 46
I cannot get pictures onto this sight but will send some to one person to download onto the sight if they wish.
I do not know the value of something like this
