There are lots of great easy to find substitutes, like paraffin wax, wood chips, saw dust, and small amount of used motor oil but I have seen it at wholesale sports before. As well if you use a bottom pour pot most of the impurities float so your casting will be much more enjoyable. I have found when make ingots I use a small amount of dirty motor oil works like a charm for me(very thin layer, more will not hurt just extra smoky).

I just bite the bullet and buy it from Sinclair / Brownell's along with the other goodies that you can't get here. Buy lots and the shipping goes down.

Why would you want that junk? Everything else mentioned so far is better that that. Terrible stuff to clean out of a melting pot.

a spruce or pine piece of wood works better. I have a can of Marvelux somewhere, wood works MUCH better and does not mess up your pot.

Odd that you guys have had problems with Marvelux. I've used various wax's with good results but I like Marvelux in the garage because of the smoke. I don't think I can remember when if fouled my pot.

I've used it for years. Turned more than half a ton of wheel weights into bullets. I like it because there is no smoke or smell. I sometimes cast in my basement.
Answering the original question- Williams Arms in Port Perry Ont usually has it on the shelf. This is a great "gun shop" and they will ship.

I cast in the basement,and I don't want the smoke,I have been using pine saw dust which I leave on top of the melt after stirring well

I buy mine from tnt sports in Regina

Cabela's in Regina have it, so likely WSS and Cabela's most places keep it in stock. That's all I've used for my Lee pots. I did try wax, but too smoky.

WSS, or I believe North Pro. I've never had any problem with it, but I heard somewhere that stirring it with a stick worked. Since nothing says redneck better than stirring molten lead with a stick I tried it with a piece of cedar. Now it's all I do��
