Cheap isn't what's lacking in NR black rifles, it's ease of getting replacement parts and upgrade options. For it to compete with the AR-15, it needs to have the same versatility. It needs to have uppers that can be swapped easily and are cheap to build. It needs to be able to use AR barrels and handguards. Not being able to buy barrel extensions and gas systems parts for the existing NR black rifles is a huge disadvantage in my view. I shoot out barrels, and I like having the option of creating my own match grade barrels or barrels in oddball calibers. Expensive replacement barrels in a limited calibers selection isn't very appealing. It's why I've never bought an XCR or ACR.

I couldn't agree more on parts availability. If Robarm would have supported the after market customized guys, I bet their rifle would be way more popular. I think the biggest problem is they can't produce enough components to build the rifles, let alone sell as parts.

Don't worry about it, it will be a while before anything hits a shelf in canada that looks like it could be in an action movie. Not to mention we don't even know what's going in state side in relation to firearms.
Most nutters will support Canadian over American any day. Doesn't mean a cheaper sh1ttier version will sell better, in the end it comes down to quality and affordability. Best of luck and keep us posted! Any NR black rifle has everyone excited in these tough times

Honestly, I would say just looking at it that they didnt copy yours. If you look at most black rifles, restricted or not they all look pretty similar. Especially in their early stages. If I was you I wouldnt be concerned about it, like everyone said there is PLENTY of room in the Canadian market for NR rifles. Build on.

Looks very much like an AR180... a lot of haters out there for its plain jane looks... it is not quite the end product so may still look different, but for me, better plain jane than over the top (like that semi-auto magazine fed shotgun from this show).

No bolt hold open.
No bolt release.
When stock is folded it blocks the ejection port.
No deflector for spent casings.

Takes AR triggers and also similar ergos to this rifle platform.
The easy take down set-up.
Come with a rail set.
The way they designed the BCG.
$1000 price tag
All in all I am quite intruged although if I could comunicate with the company that desings this rifle I would ask for 3 things;
Install an AR15 bolt release sytem. There is enough room and parts are common enough to aquire cheaply.
Make the shell deflector so that when the rifle stock is folded that it provides enough room to clear any spent rounds.
Change the charging handel to that of the ADCOR system. Thus ensureing that there is no chance to snag on no ones body when going from the slinged to ready position.
The last 2 I can see an after market company creating but the first one I would need to see done. As it would be extremley hard to create after production and the benifits far out way the costs of having such a system in ones rifle.

The bolt hold open would be nice (a la AR180 - though it didn't have a bolt release either) and I could care less about having a folding stock, leave off and reduce the price by that amount...

I doubt it... unless it deviates tha much from the AR180... it is likely NR
No, but the AR180B does with longer trigger pins.
The AR180 uses a bent sheet metal lower. I'll snap some pics later.
Depending on the ejection angle, this may be a non issue. The AR-180B doesn't have a deflector either, but as a southpaw, I've never had the problem of getting hit with empties when firing mine, since the ejection angle is almost more forward than sideways.
