So I've been on the fence about this shotgun since TI brought in the Gen1. The Gen2 looks even better. So I want to hear from actual owners of the Akdal Match 1919 shotguns. I DO NOT want to hear from owners of the various other Turkish shotguns. I'm looking for an honest review and over all function and reliability of the shotgun and the mags. Looking for a solid reliable semi automatic shotgun and the mag fed AR style looks really good. I'm happy to hear the experiences of the Gen1 and Gen 2 owners.
Thanks in advance.

I have had my Gen 1 from the day they first shipped them, and I love the gun, never had any problems from day one, shoots anything I put through it. Never had a FTF or miss fire. I did some mods to mine, I bought a lower forged receiver, trigger group and bolt handle from Tooth and Nail armory, aldo put on a GL shock butt stock and it tamed down the recoil. Got rid of the sights and put on a Vortex Venom

Thanks for the info much appreciated.

My Gen 1 has been fine from the drop as well, even with light target loads. I've had one FTF that was the last round of a new AS46 mag, I fully attribute it to the magazine.

I had my Gen 2 out for the first time yesterday. I had made sure it was well lubed, but had some failures to extract/cycle using Winchester standard target loads and Winchester heavy game loads. These were especially prevalent on the last round in the magazine. After about 50 shots, there were very few (maybe none) failures to extract/cycle when using the five round magazines, however, I was still getting this problem with the 2 round hunting magazine. With 1 in the chamber and 2 in the hunting magazine it would fire and cycle fine on the first shot, but then not on the second (again, when there was 1 round in the magazine).

I will try with some higher velocity shells in the hunting magazine next time, though perhaps the spring is wonky in the hunting magazine and it is pressing the shell up before the fired shell is ejected. I intend to use this for hunting rabbits and hares, so hopefully these issues will not persist.

Other than those issues I really like this shotgun. I would suggest a vertical foregrip and a single point sling. Like others, I have removed the iron sights. For an optic I am using the Vortex Spitfire AR Prism Scope (http://www.vortexoptics.com/category/spitfire_ar_prism_scope) which I like for its concentric circle reticle and ability to operate with or without battery power. Once I had it centred on my target at about 15 yards I was able to step back to 30 yards and shatter 11 clays in 11 shots (1 in the chamber, 2 5 round magazines attached with the magazine coupler). As for the magazine coupler, you'll need to offset the magazines a bit otherwise the magazine on the right will come into contact with the bolt handle when it cycles back. The choke tubes screw in nicely and it's nice to include them. It is very easy to change the gas rings (light and heavy), just be sure that the end cap is screwed back on securely.

I have a gen 1, it doesn't cycle Clever target loads but does Challenger brand with the same spec. When I can find "handicap" target loads cheap I stock up as it cycles them perfectly. I have a Vortex red dot on it and a Fab Defence GL-shock recoil absorbing butt stock to make it super easy to shoot.

I also have an uzkon as-46 which came with some interesting magazines, interesting if you own a mk1919

Love my Gen 1. Haven't totally broken it in yet with heavier 3" loads, so one brand of the cheapest #7.5 target load was short stroking/stovepiping with the heavy ring installed. The other brand of cheap #7.5 target load was working perfectly with the heavy ring installed. Never had a problem with any heavier shot/power 2 3/4" or 3" shells with the heavy ring installed. I'm at perhaps 50-100 rounds through her now. About half of those were the cheapies!!!

Will put another few boxes of slugs/buckshot though it and give it a bit more of a workout.

Love this shotgun!!! So short and handy!!! I have a great Holosun HS515CU and a brake installed and it shoots very well!!! Would love to try and find a 4-6" modified extension choke for it so it would have a bit better patterning for duck/goose hunting!!!
