Howdy gals and guys

I am trying to get a handle on how much and what calibre of match ammo we are going to need for Nationals. i haven't finished the stage designs yet so i can't give you a final round count but i am trying to get that finished this weekend. in the meantime this is a very unofficcial poll but will help.

If you are coming to Nationals and are planning on buying match ammo, could you please take the time to vote. there will be no commitment by voting. this is strictly an aid to help the match supplier to have the right ammount of ammo availalbe and built for the match.

National Match Ammo

Hi Walter........If the match is going to be level 3 or higher we have the right to use Armscor as the IPSC Official Match Ammo supplier......this would alleviate the problems with guaranteeing power factor etc and from what I've heard their loads for the 3 major divisions are VERY good.....also making one less problem for the Match Director

Canadian BDX will be the official supplier of Match Ammo, we have already made arrangements with them. The question is of course how much? i am guessing that about 1/3 of the competitors will chose to purchase match ammo through the match (side note that only BDX ammo purchased throgh the match will be reconized as match ammo as per rule 5.8.1.1.) so that means about 100 shooters will need match ammo. of that one hundred i am guessing that 60 will want 9 mm 35 will want 40 cal and 5 will want 45 cal. the purpose of the poll is to try and refine this number.

My question is there going to be two types of 9mm ammo ?
One for production and one open guns to make major ?

unfortunately there will no 9 mm major or 38 super available as neither one meets SAMMI specs and there is no way BDX could get licenced to produce these rounds.

great ammo. Manny Bragg used the .40 ammo last year at our Nationals.

I use the 9mm 147gr and it is the cats ass.

Walter,

Slightly off topic, but...
Are there any plans at setting up an address to have competitors ship their own ammo to?

Cheers, Eh?

yes there will be. just talked to a fellow today at shooting and he is going to double check with his boss to make sure it is ok. once he confirms we will publish the information. he drinks Rickard Red :p

what about a 180 grn .40 major loaded longer then factory spec?

email me your requirements and i will check with BDX. IF he can do it i would suggest that you order it early, like as soon as i find out if it is possable. My gut tells me that the answer will be no since it would require him to reset the camdex for 400 or 500 rounds then change it back.

ok, i have checked with BDX and they would do a load a bit longer, maybe OAL. 1.150 SAAMI is 1.135 but only for a specific customer, and it would be packaged differently so it doesn't end up in other guns. Minimum order of 500 rounds would be required. They won't adjust powder, only OAL for a one shot deal. Ammo will have to be tumbled seperatly, packaged seperatly, and manually sealed. $15.00 surcharge for handling, and manual packaging, and inspection and polishing, etc.

Of course, what they present for sale MUST be proven to make PF in a representative firearm for the division to your satisfaction.

In other words, if their current (or longer version of thier) 40 cal offering does not make major in a gun they present (or you provide) then they'll have to adjust powder levels in order to be an official match ammo supplier.

Remember, the concept here is that the vast majorty of guns that shoot match ammo will make declared PF, regardless of length and load. ;)
