Match trigger for AR15

The Timney AR15 skeletonized is perfect IMO and so easy to install correctly every time becasue its one piece.

If you're on a "budget", RRA NM 2-stage trigger. Excellent quality, reasonably priced.

Every AR should have atleast this trigger in it...... if your using your AR as a "blast away, spray and pray" then anything else would be a waste of money. (Good high grade trigger is mostly for the "tack driver" AR's)

spray and pray... sometimes, I like to play with my AR at the same range as my bolt.

Since the trigger pin broke I figured I might as well upgrade the trigger.

What range do you shoot at? If its mine I can show you the RRA trig. (I am at CDTSA)

Geissele bar none. I have two Match in my SPR and DMR in my 12.5".

FIY the difference between the three models are springs - if you ask Bill Geiselle they will ship you the springs so you could try all three variations.

Very true - as is the waste of money on ammo -

However - a very light trigger on an AR tuned for fast cycling is extremely advantageous in CQB competition ala IPSC TDSA IDPA etc.
Faster more accurate double taps - more double A's - higher score. :D

I usually do one of the infamous 15 minute DIY AR 15 trigger jobs on most of my ARs,
and it is amazing how some standard AR triggers will respond to this simple procedure .... but NOT ALL!!!.

The price is right [ FREE ],
but of course,
YPMMV.

I also vote for the RRA match trigger as a decent trigger at a good price.

When I couldn't get my RRA match trigger to work properly in my DPMS built Remington R25, I tried a DPMS match trigger. The DPMS match trigger was infinitely better than the original R25 trigger, but not quite as nice as the RRA match trigger in my AR 15.

Right now my R25 has a DIY 15 minute trigger job with spare trigger parts, and it is actually quite acceptable ....
but of course a better trigger would be nice on a rifle like this that is capable of SUB-moa shooting..

I do agree with you on that and I should revise my comment to competative rifles should use the higher grade triggers. But with a "play" rifle it is not needed.... (Like putting a blower on a neon)

WELLllllllllll,
I just installed a JARD adjustable single stage trigger in my R 25/AR 10.

The good news is that I DID end up with a nice very light, very crisp trigger, with just a tiny a bit more overtravel than I like. However, I may be able to adjust out that overtravel by playing around a bit more.

BUT,
what should have been a 10 minute job took three hours.

First of all,
the trigger itself was a bit too long to clear the inside of my AR 10 TRIGGER GUARD, so out came my Dremel to grind off the tip, and then some cold blue.

THEN,
All those adjustable set screws are a REAL pain to set just right.

AND THEN,
you must rely on the enclosed loctite to keep those tiny screws from creeping out of proper alignment, while they work inside the moving fire control parts.

I don't think I'd want to rely on this for a serious rifle, but for the one way range, it should be OK.

?Possibly? the thinner/lighter hammer spring may NOT have enough power to reliably ignite my 7.62 NATO HARD primers ....
which is some times a problem with the original R25 trigger springs as well.

Tomorrow I'll test it out at the range and see.
