Hi guys im looking for suggestion here;
I'm in the middle of a build, pretty much all i have left to pick up are the receivers, i would prefer a matched set... was aiming for a DD stripped upper and stripped lower but they seems not to be available, so now i am wondering what i should get and where... price is more or less important, but i am looking for quality.

help me out guys, thanks.

Try Woverine. I just got a DD stripped upper there a couple of days ago, hasn't arrived yet. They list everything DD, so if they don't have it, they can probably get it.

apparently DD is no longer selling stripped lowers because they cant keep up with the demand for complete rifles which they are trying to focus on.

"Matched" upper/lower sets are totally unnecessary if the parts are machined to drawing tolerances.

In the past, there were some poorly made parts, but any makers still in business today have pretty good quality control.

Two poor receivers of note from the past are the early Dlask, and early Olympic Arms.
Both are good quality now.

As per wolverine a couple days ago DD receivers are not available...

As for match set not being necessary, I'd still prefer to have both receivers of the same brand. Any suggestion about a retailer here that would offer something worth looking into, I'm thinking Armeast/Stag right now... id still prefer the DD but if Wolverine cannot have them idk who could.

Mega

i was browsing a US retailer and fell on a MEGA billet receicers... damn.
anybody have a clue if those are anywhere up here?

I think Questar brought in Mega some time ago, but noby has them now that I know of.

The only upper and lower I know of in stock right now are RRA at Quester, which is a decent brand so maybe that will work for you.

Dlask might also have uppers and lowers available right now in sets and the stuff they have made over the last 4 years or so has been very good. I've built two on those sets and was very pleased.

That being said, almost no uppers are branded with a maker's markings, so as long as the fit is good and color a close match, there is no way to tell if the upper is matched or not on a finished rifle.

Arms East will have a new-for-us set of matched uppers/lowers for sale later this week.
Stag Arms matched upper/lower will be available the second week of March.
