My latest after about 5 months hiatus: and lessons learned.

1: 49/5v
2: 44/1v
3: 39/1v - head not in game, fired five and ran it dry when my routine is 4 and mag change. shake off the distraction and just shoot!
4: 47/3v
5: 47/2v
6: 48/1v
7: 36/1v - Good blanket of rain - thought the 77s would shake the drops off a bit better, but no. Add more elevation.
8: 41/2v - Can do better, kneeling on gravel gets old. find a nice spot for the knee and keep it there.
9: 49/6v
10: 39/0v - at the mercy of a summer storm brewing - actually this one was ok considering.
11: 31/0v - Poor planning of timings and was shooting right up to the target dropping. Rapids are no place for second guessing the wind.
12: 34/0v - Need....Oxygen....Must.....Exercise.....:D

Well, here is the results from my last go at it from CFB Borden.

M1 - 46.4 Not bad,, could be better. Zero was a bit off.
M2 - 50.4 Starting to rain,, need to remain positive.
M3 - 44.5 Bit shaky, have to be careful not to breath on the scope (fog) in the rain.
M4 - 48.5 Standard Match, not the mover.
M5 - 50.2 Stopped raining, starting to get warm.
M6 - 50.8 Things are humming just fine
M7 - 46.0 Nice groups, just to the right of the V.
M8 - 50.4 Felt wobbly, but was able to hold within the bull.
M9 - 49.3 Day 2 morning, no wind.
M10 - 44.1 Ok,,
M11 - 42.1 Too aggressive with the wind call.
M12 - 48.2 Nice.
Total: 567.39. That was good enough for a 3rd place finish,, two others in the low 570s.
Only 2 weeks till NSCC.

We train our guys to shoot it dry during the rapids. We feel it saves some time as you eliminate lost time from settling back down into your position to finish target one, then have to move and adjust to target two. If you shoot it dry, all you have to do is settle back down onto your final target and empty the mag into it.
It has been standard for all the military teams I have been with.

Great shooting Shelldrake!Looks like its going to be a good go at NSCC and CFSAC.
I run my mag dry as well and feel it saves me some time on the rapids.
Not often you shoot a high 560's and come in third eh?Were the first and second shooters military or civy?

I agree on the armour.Once your comfortable with it, its all good. But I have a feeling if they made it manditory they'd have to bring in a stack of the old US Vietnam issue stuff for guys to use.I can't get any issued out here because apparently I have no need.Go figure.

I am in the same boat longshot. Here they basically took it off my back when I got home from Afghan. No need for it.

59er I agree, somebody realized that the CBRN threat here in Canada is lower than Afghanistan where we don`t carry them at all. Mine never left KAF or my UAB. Also helps us lefties for pistol.

Found this old thread and though we should keep it going. Anyone have any scores to post from last season? I have a good one from the BCRA last summer but don't have access to it at the moment.
