This is an all matching and correct byf 44 k block with the late Kriegsmodell numbering pattern. The k block is interesting because part way through the block Mauser Oberndorf switched from the early numbering pattern to the late pattern. Generally if the serial is on the receiver on a k block it will have the late numbering although there is at least one know example serialed on the barrel with the late numbering. The only parts that are serialed are the receiver, bolt, bolt sleeve, cocking piece, and firing pin. Stock, bands, sight parts, etc., are all unnumbered as the should be.
The metal has seen better days and was very rusty when I got it. I spent many hours carefully removing most of the scaly rust with out damaging the remaining finish and leaving the patina intact. I think I did a decent job of it but let me know if I didn't.
The stock, unlike the metal, is in fantastic condition. Great white glue laminate with chatter throughout and never sanded or messed with in any way. Nice raw laminate inside and a nice MO 6 ink stamp in the channel. The handguard is red glue and while usually the stock and handguard are made of the same laminate it isn't that uncommon to have a mixture.
