Matching original byf 41 Luftwaffe!!

Unless you want to wait 10yrs for something you want to come up for sale in Canada, the only way to find stuff like this is importing. I agree though, it is well worth it. I enjoy collecting these immensely.
 
Arghhhhh! Can't stop lookin at the pics! I'm falling in love with that stock, now I'm thinking I need some walnut again. Great photography too, the detail really stands out, best pics I've seen around here in a while.
 
As alluded to, the hood is off a Steyr rifle (660 code or bnz code) - the shape is unmistakably from that maker. All the other makers used a different, much more common protector. The Steyr hoods are sought after by bnz owners - I'll trade you for a byf hood if you want ;)

To be honest I noticed the shape but for some reason I never clued in. Definitely a Steyr hood and thanks for the offer but I'll be keeping it!:p

Any way here is a pic of three different hoods. The left one is the Steyr hood. The other two are supposedly original WW2 hoods and were purchased off a reputable seller but with all the variations and some repro's being high quality its pretty hard to tell 100%

I have yet to see a convincing Steyr repro though, pretty sure that one's original. If you decide to get rid of it, let me know. I have a bnz43 it would look good on ;)
 
I agree. It is an original Steyr hood. They go for big bucks and can be hard to find. I have plans to add a few bnz's to my collection after the byf part is done so I'll hang on to it for now.
