Matchlock Musket

You can buy a brand new matchlock or flintlock and you don't need a license or to register it. The only place I can think of to buy a matchlock is loyalist arms:
.loyalistarms.freeservers.com/[/url]
They also sell flintlocks, you can also find flintlocks at the discriminating general:
militaryheritage.
or build one from a kit from the track of the wolf:
trackofthewolf.
They'll all likely want some proof you're over 18 before they sell you anything... I hope this info helped.

cc 84 1(a) and cc84 1(b) plus SOR 98-464 are the sections of criminal code and statement of regulation that govern antiques. You will find them in the black powder section at least once and I think several times.

Yes! Thankyou very much. My dad was saying that if a gun is a reproduction of a gun manufactured before 1897 (or whatever the year is) that it would have to be registered, but maby hes wrong. Could someone direct me to the exact section in the CFC where it talks about Reproductions of antiques? My computer is very slow, because im out on hollidays, and gunnutz and my email seem to be the only fast webpages (probably because im not the only person that goes on this site from the hotel) :D

Here ya go. Straight from CFC.

"All matchlock, flintlock and wheel lock long guns are classified as antiques no matter when they were made. Like older firearms of these types, they are exempt from the licence and registration requirements set out in the Firearms Act".

Percussion cap long guns and muzzle-loading black powder handguns made after 1898 are not classified as antiques even if they are copies of an earlier antique model. Newer percussion cap long guns are classified as non-restricted firearms; newer handguns, including matchlock, wheel lock and flintlock handguns made after 1898, are classified as restricted if their barrel length is over 105 mm (about 4 inches), or prohibited if their barrel length is 105 mm or less.
