Hello and welcome. I do have a Mateba, but have no plans to sell. Interesting gun. Hope you can find one. Definitely post in the EE. However, I think your chances will be much better if you look at Gunbroker or some other site in the US, and have the gun brought into Canada. A man named Gadbois in Seattle is setting up an operation now to do that with a Canadian partner. Clay Smiley at Prophet River Firearms also was doing that, but I don't know if he has a partner in the US at this time. Good luck.

Hahaha... I stumbled upon the Mateba years ago, and saved this pic (just as I found it) because of it...

Well, this is a resurrection from the old thread...

Welcome aboard!!!

If you wan the 'real deal' Mateba then I would suggest looking at US auction sites and plan on someone like IRUNGUNS.ca (through IRUNGUNS LLC in USA) to import one for you: expect to pay $4000 as a minimum (lowest price I have heard was $3500USD for one with a long enough barrel: the 102mm or 4" was most imported and that is 3mm too short). They are rare, hard to find and costly: see Mateba Fan website. If someone in Canada sells one I would say it is because the original owner is:
- in a 'sell or be homeless' situation (no way to borrow a dime)
- unfortunately passed away (estate sale)
- or mildy unstable (just my opinion)
Never heard of one sold in Canada otherwise (insert first reply with counter - but better have proof dude/chick!!!).

If you want the Mateba 'look alike' I would suggest the Chiappa Rhino: they are around some of the CGN sponsors. Prophet River & Frontier Firearms, off the top of my head, gets them now and then. There will be other sponsors too.
