Anyone shooting these? Had a customers gun to test out and was very pleased with the accuracy, shot in the .3's and one group in the .1's. Used CCI br primers, unprepped win brass right out of the bag, and H4831sc. Started with a very mild load but planing on working up. Anyone got load info for these in a .284 win?

Cheers

Haven't shot those so no help on load data, but the 117's in 6mm for my crusader shot like that as well. Will be going back to them when I use up my Berger 108's.

Shoot these out of my STW and I am very pleased with them.

What twist barrel are your running? And, what velocities are you getting with 190's? I have been shooting the 168gr VLD's at 3250 fps, with excellent performance and accuracy. Thinking about trying the 190's, so I would be interested to know your setup.

I run a 9 twist barrel and if memory serves me (gun rooms packed and cant find my data ) I am right around 3000 fps. I have no issue pushing these to a mile. They work unreal out of mine and wont shoot anything else. In my avatar, that's my wife shooting it and she calls it her gun now.

Out of a 31" 8 twist pipe in straight 284 I could get to 2820 fps safely with consistency using Rl17 (max I saw was 2880 but was warm and inconsistent wrt pressure signs). Rl17 takes some care to run in a match as leaving a round in a warm pipe will make for surprises.

Using 4831sc I couldn't get up to 2800 before seeing pressure signs on the casehead. However, even at 'low' initial velocities, this pill cruises supersonic a long way.

All bullets were moly coated.

Air temps during testing were in the 5 to 15 C range.

I got up as high as 54.5gr of 4831SC under the 190, which yeilded 2718 fps, looking at my notes now. I don't have any indications of pressure noted actually- I just stopped at 54.5 that day. My plots predict that the 190s will fly 2800 out of my barrel under 55.7gr 4831SC. For reference, 55gr of 4831SC under a 162 moly'd Amax slid out at 2800 just fine, and plotted about a half minute at 300 yd. None of my notes show any pressure signs except for with the RL17 loads. It appears that both 4831SC loads could go higher safely.
