Mattawa Ontario Duck Guide Needed

Anyone know of a Guide service for waterfowl around Mattawa Ontario area. Internet has been unhelpful.Option #2 a duck hunter who would like to make a few dollars doing some guiding.Thanks

There isn’t much duck hunting around Mattawa except for a few goldeneye and mergansers on the river. It’s just not good duck habitat or on a migration corridor. There is a bit of Canada goose shooting to be had on a few of the area farms but even that is quite limited. You would be better off heading further east in the Missisippi River to Ottawa corridor. I hunted most of the Mattawa area farms for geese for over a decade and never once did we see or shoot a puddle duck of any kind and I could count on less than both hands the numbers of puddlers we saw on ponds etc in the area.

Head East to Pembroke or West to Lake Nipising (North Bay) there are guides and birds in both places.

Other than the 2900 kms/30 hours of driving and six tanks of gas through your pickup...

But pretty much guaranteed better waterfowling.

But worth every penny!! It’s an experience you’d be hard pressed to replicate anwhere else.
