nice hunt, and congrats. I had a combo vacay and hunting trip on the Big Island a few years back. Picked specifically to do some upland bird hunting. Family couldn't really complain, since I made the plans and paid for everything... I will say that I paid more for that one day of hunting than I had for several YEARS of hunting around home! It was an awesome time, though.
The goat & pig situation on Hawaii is similar to the feral hog situation in Texas (and elsewhere), in my mind. These are introduced pests that are destroying the ecology of the places they inhabit. They should all be exterminated for the good of the land (& economy)... but instead they are 'managed' for hunting and the cash it brings in. The proper thing to do would have been to empty your gun several times and cull every nanny, kid & billy goat that you saw!! But that's not the way it goes, unfortunately for all the native species of plants & animals...
