Mauser 1908 just purchased *LOTS OF PIC'S*

Any concerns that all that metal that was removed during the octagonization (is that even a word ? :D) would result in the firearm not being able to (safely) handle full blown loads ?

I'm not sure, I've got a box of Hornady "lite mag" that I've been holding off trying for that reason, I'm not sure its designed for the older stuff (its all the store had, so I picked up a box for the heck of it). It looks like a well built rifle, so if I can find a gunsmith I want to take it in and get a professional opinion before putting those threw.

I almost didn't get the display box, My wife noticed on the back of the price tag it said "comes with wooden display box" , so I asked, and the did some searching and sure enough, found it in the back, its nice to have it, otherwise I wouldn't have tracked down the history.
