Mauser Model 1910 - Sidelatch
S/N: 35013 - Dated late 1912
Caliber: 6,35mm
Barrel length: 3 inches
Black rubber grips in one piece wraparound
Original nickel magazine with star stamped on baseplate

This is a specimen of the first pocket pistol made by Paul Mauser - Up to 61,000 were produced before WW1 began
Main characteristic: "A small latch which rotates into a matching milled slot in the sideplate acts as the trigger pin and takedown for the lockwork, and the barrel holder rod is springloaded on one end to create tension so as to hold the other end in a milled slot under the barrel."

I cleaned one up for a fellow about 10 ysr ago, it had wood grips, maybe a 2nd model.
I kind of liked it, don't make them like that these days, I do remember how good it worked.
 
What a beautiful example of one of the rarest and most desirable of the "Mauser pocket pistols"!

The level of fit/finish and precision of maching evident is truly "long-gone, old school" craftsmanship.
