Hello all,

I am curious if anyone knows if there are newly made, restricted length, barrels out there for the Mauser model 1914 ? if so, does anyone happen to know the cost for these ?

Thank you for any help that can be provided.

I doubt it, because there would be absolutely no point. The Mauser 1910 was made in 6.35mm (aka .25ACP); the Mauser 1914 was an "upgunned" version for military use made in 7.65mm (aka .32ACP). Both 25 and 32 calibre handguns are specifically prohibited regardless of barrel length. Thus, the Mauser 1914 is effectively "doubly prohibited" because it has both a short barrel AND is in an "evil" calibre.

I'd need to have one in person to check (I can't, no 12(6)), but some .32's can be converted to .380ACP. You'd definitely need to calibre-convert it to get it de-prohibited.

Have done a PPK to 380 from 7.65, feed lips on the magazine needs to be tweeked and you get an ugly 380 stamp on receiver to indicate caliber/barrel change, the 25 caliber is a no go as no room in magazine well for the larger 380 cartridge. As stated both the barrel and caliber are phrohibited.

Screwtapes post is bang on point.

Didn't Epps Sporting Goods come up with a proprietary .30 Epps cartridge made for converting .32 cal pistols from prohib to restricted when combined with a new barrel of the proper length? Since they are a licensed manufacturer wouldn't they be able to make a barrel as well?

I could be way, way out to lunch on this. haha.

Thanks for the info guys. I didn't realize both .32ACP and the barrel were prohibited.

JPmauser, here is some information for your question : http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...liber-to-convert-32-acp-pistols-to-restricted

I am going to be asking if they would even make a barrel for the Mauser 1914 as it will require some special machining. It won't be cheap either way and neither will loading for Epp's proprietary caliber.

Watching youtube videos of happy Americans enjoying these and other prohibited pocket pistols can be quite depressing to say the least :(.

As far as I know, you don't have to be a licensed manufacturer to make up a barrel from a blank.
