Mauser 7.92X57mm Source

I just bought myself a Yugo M48 from Marstar. I was hoping to get some 8mm with the rifle, but they had no stock. Can anyone suggest a place to look for reasonably priced Fmj rounds? Thx.

8mm Mauser? Isn't that just in 7.62x51mm?

Thanks Paul but what I meant was that I thought that the FNM Port was only available in 7.62x51mm (or .308).

No. It is avaliable in 8mm Mauser. I picked up a couple of boxes in Germany.
It's a 198gr FMJ with the headstamp FNM 8x57IS TARGET.

The FNM 8x57 surplus was very common around 15-20 years ago, out west anyway. I haven't seen any around for a long time though. It's very nice ammo.

Good thing I've still got seven or eight hundred left, including 300 tracers.

Excellent. I will have to keep an eye open for it. I thought it was only available in 7.62 Nato.

Jimy, in response to your original question, CanAm (of Canada Ammo) stated he will possibly be getting in surplus 8mm in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled for that as well.
