Mauser 71/84 value?

550 is reasonable, that is for sure. Just pay attention to the markings on all small parts to insure correctness. Have paid way more for premium pieces. The good stuff is becoming harder to find these days. As STG-44 stated watch the bore but don't expect perfection. These rifles were military and many suffered a harsh environment. Good luck on this one, the butt plate should bear the regimental division number and co. along with weapon number.

If you intend on shooting it be aware that ammunition hasn't been produced commercially for years and if you reload for it brass is expensive and hard to find -- Bertram Brass in Australia sells it but at $120 for 20 cases.

...and they last forever.
If you plan to shoot these rifles you must invest in:
  • reloading dies, lee is very affordable
  • bullet mold, RCBS is the best and closest to original
  • 20 Bertram brass (40 is better) go a long way
from that point on it is cheap shooting
