Well I have found a model 93 mauser and was wondering what kind of value these things are? Are they worth anything? What size round is it? Good shooters for their time? I left a message for the guy so I could see it in person but figured I would see what kind of info I can get before I see it. The price on her is $150.00 and it is mildly sportsterized, what ever that means. Any links and info or opinions guys?? I am googling right now to help me out but I thought I would ask the "pros" here.

'93 Mauser

Hard to say without pics, but any "sporterizing" or alterations would erase any collector value. Therefore $150 sounds about right assuming a decent bore. Exception might be a legit Boer-war Mauser as they often "personalized" their rifles.

I looked at it last night and it is an early model from the markings, the stock has been shortened and plugged for the bayonet cutout. It still has the long range rear flip up sight, bore is shiny front to back, the gun is very clean and functions very smoothly. Trigger operation is clean and even, bolt is nice showing minimal wear. SO other than the front stock being shortened it is a very clean well kept gun.

From what I can google about it, it has a nice long range to it and was very well accepted for accuracy. It looks like I am going to pick her up and go through it, shoot it at the range, see how it works for me. It has a pretty long barrel so I expect good accuracy at the 200 marker.
