Mauser 98K specifcs?

Based on my limited knowledge, I'd say that yes, it is probably a mucked up Yugo refurbished k98. That's a Yugoslavian sling on the rifle and the finish is similar to most Yugo k98's that I have seen
 
I really don't think it's a Yugo refurb. It's not numbered in the typical Yugo fashion. Not much to go on based on those pics though. Perhaps an EG refurb? We need more detailed pics.
 
To definitively identify a particular Mauser 98 you need 5 pieces of information:

the model marking on the left sidewall;
the arsenal code on the receiver ring;
the year;
the serial number; and
the letter code.

After that, look for matching numbers to the multitude of small parts. The Germans were very thorough about numbering all the parts to one rifle. From the pictures, I don't see any markings on the receiver ring. That suggest it might be a Yugoslav capture and reissue, or a Russian capture although they were less concerned about removing all the original markings.
