Mauser bolt question

Rotate the extractor to clear the locking lug, pry its lip out of the retaining groove, push the extractor foreward until it releases from the collar.
To remove the collar, you will have to spread it open, and pull it off. Try not to bend it more than necessary.

Hello gunnutz, can some one tell me how to remove the extractor/ collar from a mauser bolt?

Thanks in advance.

The extractor has a small foot that slides in a groove near the front end of the bolt. In order to remove the extractor, you have to turn the extractor fully to the right so that the foot comes out of the groove.

Once the foot is out of the groove, push the extractor forward until is is free of the collar.

To get the collar off, simply spread it apart and work it off the bolt. It's generally a bad idea to take the collar off as they are a very soft steel that can easily become deformed from been spread.

Here's a website that will help. Note they didn't take the collar off.
