There are some very cool looking Mauser C96's on the EE right now. Anyone know of anywhere in Canada that has 7.63 mauser? I know Fiocchi and PRVI Partizan make it as several US online ammo stores have stock. I'd be tempted but I don't want anything I can't shoot at least once and awhile.

I haven"t see much around but chances are some ammo will turn up sooner or later. Worst case: you import some from the US (yes, pain in the butt), or eventually start reloading. No shortage of brass around. You can just light load some 7.62 tokarev brass.

I have one in 30 mauser, ammo is kind of hard to find so I got a case of Czech surplus 7.62 tokarev. I pulled off the bullet with a kinetic hammer and reduced the load about 3 - 4 grains and just seated the bullet back with a 9mm seating die. Half the time it fails to eject the empty case but I'm fine with that as long as it doesn't go too hard on the gun. I also found a bag of reloaded 30 mauser at a gun show and half were made from cut down 223 cases. I'm looking to reload but I need to find the dies, 30 mauser cases and the right bullets.

They ARE antiques, Mike! I heard that they were considered the best pistol on earth by Winston Churchill. Like any respectable gunny he was right just about everything! The man understood scotch, pistols, cigars and Germans better than any other man in history.

Why, if my wife weren't waiting at home for me with a rolling pin I would march right over to the EE and scoop that one from under Sailor's nose right now! LOL...

Looks like the pick of the litter (third one down) is SPF. Probably just as well. This has been a tough few weeks on the wallet with 3 revolvers I've been looking for, the Webley .22 and the Luger all showing up for sale at nearly the same time............... Probably time to cool it for a bit.
