well I just bought a mauser geha, I know, I know, WHY??
and why haven't you posted in shotguns?? because as the title reads, to me its a milsurp bubba
anyhow I just wanted one prior to reading more info on them, I have now figured out why I got it for 100 bucks at auction, not a lot of favourable comments and reviews, however for some reason they intrigued me.
the write up read as follows when I looked at it and then placed my 2 bids taking it home,

mauser geha 12 guage, bore good, scratches on stock, blah blah blah......for 100 plus 10% buyers premium, i'll take it!! looked it over pretty good and looked just fine, a little beat up, whatever, its all there.

however problem number one.......a 12 guage it isn't!! its listed wrong!! its a 16 guage, which I wouldn't have bought had I known that.

problem #2 I am assuming from what I have read, its a 2 9/16" chamber.

soooo...... now I have a mauser geha in 16 guage with a 2 9/16" chamber????? where to go from here??

anyone have a source for shells for this thing in 2 9/16" or 2 1/2" 16g ?

my other alternative is to get some once fired 16g hulls cut them down and load them myself to which I have no objections, I can load them light and even maybe some black powder or pyrodex, I just like to play I do not hunt at all, problem with this is I have nothing else to fire 16g in and cant shoot 2 3/4" shells from it, {I cant say for sure what size the chamber is, however I am staying on the safe side}

all in all I guess my question is looking for 16g once fired hulls or 16g 2 1/2" shells, any thoughts or help???

thanks in advance, for the record, someone may post the norm this thread is useless without pics, just picture in your mind a bubba'd mauser as my phone is my only camera and close up pics suck on it

You can get low pressure, short 16 gauge shells from Kent. You just have to find someone who carries them or get someone to order you some. WSS used to carry them but I don't know if they still do.
If you can't find them just cut hulls and reload.
Also, measure your chamber length with a suitable size socket or take a dowel rod and wrap tape around it until it fits snug. Insert and measure.
