Hey guys,

I recently got a hold of my Mauser C96, a Pre-war commercial example, with all matching parts (pictures can be provided) but the one part that is missing is the extractor clip. I talked to a friend and he said that I could fashion some sort of replacement to serve the purpose but I was wondering how easy it would be to get a replacement, reproduction or otherwise ?

Thank you kindly.

I have a C-96 that had an extractor failure, so I ordered a replacement extractor.

Alas, there are several different versions of extractor that were made.

The one I got doesn't fit my gun.

Send me a pic (or post in here) and I'll see if the "spare" I have might fit in your pistol.

(I have a 1911 commercial in the 116### serial number range.)

Here are some pictures that I took:

The caliber appears to be 7.62x25mm Mauser with my C96 being a pre-war commercial variant. By the looks of the area where the extractor clip would sit, it seems that it was lost long ago because of the amount of dirt and grease build up.

Have you tried Gun Parts Corp.? There are some parts they won't ship out of the US, but you can go on-line and see what's available. The only other possibility I can think of (if NavyShooter can't help) is to start looking at all the parts sites (a few people specialize in C96s), places like GunBroker, AuctionArms, NAPCA, and Jack First. Shipping out of the US has gotten legally more complicated, and you will run into people who won't ship even though there is no real reason not to, but the part you want is not on any restricted list I'm familiar with, and so it ought to be possible to find someone in the US who can help, if there's no Canadian source.

Thank you for the information, it is nice to know that I can source the extractor clip from somewhere. I will check those vendors out asap to see if they have it listed.

We appear to need the same piece.

I pulled mine out of the safe for a looksee, and from what I can determine, around the 40,000 ser no production mark, they changed to the extractor that we need.
