Mauser Gurus, please help, need Info about a >>>>> G33/40 <<<<<

The interesting thing about the video is that the rifle shown is stamped g33/40 and appears correct BUT the bolt handle does not have the lightening hollow (obviously we cannot see if there are lightening cuts under the side rails due to the stock) AND it is clearly a ‘stepped’ receiver ie not a traditional ‘small ring’ contour. Do you think be has a fake in the video?

There is no way in that video from what I saw to say regarding the bolt. It is still not a LARGE ring m98 receiver. That gun is the correct receiver. The bolt....who knows......could be bolt mm, or we just cant see the hollow.

Whats your point though? The rifle in the OP is so wrong, I'm not sure where you are going. ...

According to Ludwig Olson "Mauser Bolt Rifles", the G33/40 has a "stepped" receiver - the ring diameter is same as the small ring mausers, and the side rail is about 1/2 the thickness of the rail in a 98.

Thank you that helps me! And to CanadianAR... I am not sure where I was going either - just managed to confuse myself :)
