Mauser identified thanks to Baribal. Part 2 rebuild!

Don't know what is going on, but all your pictures have disappeared on this thread, and only on this thread. Lots of pictures on other threads.

Anyone else experiencing this?
Ted

No, can still see the picture but we do need some better shots to really appreciate the work you did.

How did I manage to miss this thread 8 months ago? Talk about being asleep at the switch!

Great job so far. Looking forward to seeing the end result.

I have a near new condition Brno 22F 8x57JS, a fullstock (Mannlicher-style) made in 1945. I know you are making a custom rifle, not just a restoration but I can take pictures of any parts that may interest you for help with your build. Here are a few general shots:

Wow, that is a nice rifle Rob.
Trigger is a double set trigger.By pulling the one closest to you set the trigger and
makes the other trigger very light.

I have had some time to tinker with my gun so I decided to do some jeweling on the bolt.
It had some pit marks that I couldn't clean up.I'm hoping the jeweling will hide it somewhat.

Did some more draw filing and then used stone to get final finish on barrel yesterday.
Its not perfect. I have a spot where I got some shattering and could not totally
clean it up. I'm happy with it thou. Indexed it to the bottom half. Chambered it today to a
6.5x55 AI.

Rob when you #### your gun and apply safety is it hard to do?
I find my safety to be very hard to apply. It takes some good pressure.I have to look at it again.

The safety on my Brno 22-F is very smooth, just the right amount of slight pressure. Actually, its probably the smoothest safety on any of my rifles. I'm sorry you are having trouble. I know hand fitting a safety to get it just right can be frustrating and am glad they did it for me back in '45. If you need any parts photos just let me know.

I might have to take you up on some parts pictures. I'll take out my safety lever and take a picture of the engaging surfaces.
I'll post it and maybe you could do the same for comparison?
I'm getting set up to blue the barrel today and an action for another project.
