Mauser K98 I.D.?

My neighbour has a K98 with the Waffenamt stamp (I think that's what it is, an eagle in wings) plus serial number EA 15854.

Anyone know what that means?

Also Cal 7.92 and a P in a square

That's what I realized later. I had one before. This one however does not have "La Coruna" on the stamp.

That's what it is.

I had one before. The wood on the rear part of the handguard was so high that you couldn't seven see the back sight "V" when you tried to aim it, even along the channel in the wood.
