Well, why not get one of these threads rolling for finding matching parts for our K98's. Sticky this please.

My K98 numbers

bolt handle- 2388

bolt body- 9110

floor plate- 5273

bottom metal- 7548

Looking for parts numbered 3167.

Joe, I am running a matching bolt thread at another board, can I add those??

Cote- you are missing the major premise on mm parts. You need to know what type of part(stamped/milled), serial, waa, and if applicible maker code. (Ie: e, a, ch, m, byf, l, svw, etc)

Just the serial means nothing.

Mines an Israeli conversion, so all I have on my parts are serial numbers. My receiver is an S-42 if that helps any. How can you tell if they are stamped or milled?

To be honest, finding the parts is a waste of time. It will never be original. And will just end up with parts swapped out, different finishes etc. If it works well, I'd leave it.

I can post pics later tonight to show the differenmce between stamped and milled.

S/42 would have everything serialled and marked. Depending on year waa would be 63 or maybe 655.

You also need all milled parts.

The reason I wanted to get an all matching bolt is that the bolt gets really hard to work after firing it. It cycles fine when its empty, but after firing, the bolt is a ##### to open. Is this a headspace issue? Overpressure cartridge?

My S-42 is a 1936.

It could be a headspace issue or just a poorly mated bolt. You could also take the bolt apart and clean and lube all the inner workings.

S/42 1936 would have been waffenamt team 63

So you would need a bolt with your serial and letter suffix, then waa63, then the early numbering and proofing pattern.
