Another rifle which I'm not sure of...
I think it's a Yugo M48BO Mauser like the ones Marstar was selling awhile back yet something says it's also abit of a mismatch.
No stamps to speak of.
Bolt has 2 numbers which match
Stock is laminated , stamped with a different number than the bolt
Handguard is solid beech
Front band has another number yet.
Front sight guard is one I'm not familiar with .
Overall condition I'd say is G-VG with very light dusting of surface rust....no pitting. Very clean and well lubricated inside with a great bore.

Am I right about this rifle?...value ?

I'm no Mauser expert, but just recently had a Czech rework. The guard on your front sight is Czech type. Is the rust you mention under the bluing, as in blued over pits?

Looks like a Czech post war refurb Kar98K. More info about small markings (if any) from metal and wood needed.

The Yugo M48 is different from the Kar98K in many respects.

Very light surface rust . It should come off with an oilyrag without any maring of the bluing....No pitting
What stamping there is is just a few numbers ...no identification/manufacture stamps at all
- small number stamps matching on the bolt ( just 2 of them )
-A number on the front band , as seen in photo
-A number stamped on the underside of the stock
-light stuck number stamp on the floorplate..I can't tell what it is

The riing is totally unmarked?

If so I can see why you mentioned the BO rifles.

So other than the remnants of serial numbers on parts there are no proof or inspector marks at all?

The sight hood is typically Czech. The Czechs refurbed many thousands of wartime Kar98Ks and built many new ones post war up until the early 50s

Yugoslavia also refurbed large numbers of Kar98Ks but did not produce entire rifles of that pattern, already having the M24 family of Mausers and later producing the M48

Have you removed the stock yet to see what markings are on the bottom of the receiver?

Hmmm.. Yugo or Czech "sanitized" Kar 98K?

No proof/inspector/manufacture stamps visable .
It's not my rifle so I don't know if theres anything under the stocks.
No signs of "scrubbing" either from what I can see.

A couple of years ago Marstar imported German K98K Rifles from Yougoslavia scrubbed of all markings, this one may be from that batch.
