So I got a timney 3 way adjustable trigger from a member on here since the origial trigger on my turkish mauser 98 has alot of creep and inconsistent feel to it. Not to date I have cleaned and gun including stripping the bolt down, cleaning and inspecting it all, reassembly, and then out to the range to check function. All was well, the former owner claimed it was keyholing. Well it seems decet to me so I then added a black ATI stock with integrated top scope rail. Mounted a scope and took it out. Maxed the scope out to the left for adjustment but not inline at 50 yards. So I got windage adjustable mounts and bang she shoots very consistent at 100 yards doing sub 2 inch groups on 3 shot groups.

The trigger feel is sh*tty so I looked for and found a used timney trigger. Well I adjusted it up when it got here, minimum throw, 1/16th break, adn small over all travel. Took her to the range I it is like comparing a cooey single shot to a savage accutrigger. SLight, crisp, and PERFECT!! I did have to shave the trigger guard internally as there is a casting mark on the stock that the trigger was resting on so it wouldn't return, I put a piece of 150 grit paper around a piece of copper plumbing pipe and evenly smoothed the inside of the trigger guard. The stock is getting texture coated black so the sanding is not a big issue for me.

Anyone else do any trigger swaps on these guns with similar turnout?? Best mod to a gun I have made to date.

I don't think too many in this forum who appreciate milsurps would have done this. This is the type of thing that people who hate milsurps do.

I hope it was already bubba'd before its tacticool transformation!

Stock was toast, bluing all gone, rear sight gone, rebarrelled to 308 already, sanding marks on the marking, soverall really poor over used condition. When I pulled the mag spring the junk in there would has embarassed my cat, she throws up stuff that looks better than what was in there. I like old classic firearms and restorations but this one was so beat up there is not point.

I have a spare Boyd's trigger that I have yet to install on my BRNO 98 Mauser. I'm not sure I will do it though, because the original is pretty decent.

When I got my German Model 98 Some one before me ha tried to do some work on it and the stock was altered and the bolt. So I sportised the gun whith a new stock and also put in a Huber Mauser Anti-friction Ball Trigger. It is an easy change over and is it ever nice ti fire now. As they say a real tack driver.
