Mauser part?

I got this in a parts lot I bought quite a few years ago, and assume it is for a Mauser. I'm not a Mauser guy so not sure which one. You can see the marking in the pic.

Likely Argentine M1909 Mauser front band/bayonet lug.

It could also be from a Spanish 98 Mauser. They put those pinned adapters on to accept the later model bayonets.

That marking is a Liberty Cap. Figures quite prominently in the Argentinian coat-of-arms.

Haven't see it on anything else, but my collection is weak in that part of the world.

That is a bayonet adapter on the lug that accepts the ealier 1893/95 bayonet, the spanished used that setup on the M43/44 rifles. You can take it off and use standard M98 bayonets on it
