This work horse has walked a lot of miles but was well maintained. The bore is 'excellent' but the Yugo bolt does not match.
Still running strong with a tight chamber
Josip Broz Tito would be proud.
This Yugoslavian K98k has almost no blueing remaining. The Yugoslav Crest on the receiver has been partially polished off by the hands of soldiers (probably in the trail carry position).
The Yugoslav bolt is non-matching and the wood is replete with scars but she is adorned with an excellent barrel, good headspace, a trigger that breaks like glass and shoots 3 MOA from the prone supported. The rifle loves Hornady 195gr .323" Interlocks, IMR 4064, PPU brass and WLR primers.
Under Josip Broz Tito's leadership the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia and it's brave Partisans would not be defeated by Hitler, Mussolini, Chetniks, Serb Royalists or the Croatian Ustaše. After WW2 even Stalin failed in his many attempts to assassinate him. The odds of Josip Broz dying of old age would seem impossible (but true).
If this old Jugo K98k could tell its story I have no doubt that it would be full of heartache and suffering but it would be coupled by pride and determination.
