Mauser question

You talking about leverarmsdot.com? None are listed on the web site.

I have seen parts for the k98 but no parts for other models. Is this an issue? I wanted a scope but the stripper clip wouldn't work than and most don't have scopes. Don't think these guns and scopes are the thing!

I ended up getting a rear sight scope mount. Pretty easy instructions and it requires a scout scope. In cheapest to most expensive for scopes I’ve looked at NCSTAR, AIM PRO, and Vortex. Because of my inexperience with scopes I went cheap with NCSTAR and it works pretty well. Eventually I will upgrade the scope once I figure them out a bit more.

Get a Mauser SSR reproduction. It's period correct and works great. I think mine was 125$

There was a very nice Norwegian K98 on EE not too long ago and maybe still there. Finally reduced to a nearly sane price ~$1400. They are my favourite postwar conversion and accurate shooters.

Nearly sane? Not quite. The price of $1400 is what you'd expect for a low end all matching original k98. Plus the OP is looking for something that shoots 8mm.

Corwin is currently carrying a spanish mauser plus a few yugo m48s. I bought an m48a a while back and love it. Very clean and all matching.

No one has advised on my new rifle. Come on guys ha ha. It is money out the door so what I paid isn't that big of an issue anymore. The gun looks good, the rifling looks good as near as I can see next to not rust or evidence of rust in the past. The wood finish is good, clearly refinished. There is a written serial # on the bolt handle using a buzz writer or whatever that is called. Not stamped with stamps at any rate. The three numbers visible are the same, none on the bbl and no dates evident. The bolt is a little stiff, should be taken apart to see if there is old grease in there. Have not been to the range yet.

What is the verdict. I can take it!
